She founded this firm in 2004. She is a seasoned legal practitioner with an impressive proven track record spanning 21 years in litigation, commercial law, notarial practice, administrative law and human rights advocacy in both private and public sectors. She has worked in various parts of the country and is often invited to speak at respected international fora.

She has served as the Deputy Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs as well as the Deputy Minister of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development in the 2009-2013 Government of National Unity. Jessie chaired the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs and is a member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee and the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Local Government.

She has a flair for combining the practice of the law with developing public policy & practice on law and the improvement of the justice delivery system. She is the first and only woman lawyer to be elected to the Parliament of Zimbabwe. She has received awards in recognition of her achievements which include the 2016 & 2015 Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) People’s Choice Human Rights Defender of the Year Awards, 2015 ZimRights Outstanding Female Human Rights Defender of the Year Award, ZimRights Outstanding Human Rights Defender Female MP Of The Year Award 2014 and the Zimbabwe Women Lawyers’ Association Women’s Human Rights Defender of The Year Award 2014.

She is a fitness enthusiast, and sings the alto in her Catholic church choir.
